Free website and payment-link check
Is this website a scam? Check before you pay
Paste the shop's web address or the payment link you were sent, and add how they want you to pay. Kindyra OS checks the address for lookalikes and disguises, looks up when the site was registered and flags the payment methods that can't be undone.
Free tool that checks a payment request before you pay. How it works
- A clear light: red, amber or green, with every signal and why
- Checks on links and UPI IDs: lookalike addresses, new websites, personal IDs for company payments
- What to do instead: the safer way to pay this person, or to check them first
Signs of a fake shop or payment page
- A lookalike address.
amaz0n-deals.shop, paypal.com.secure-login.xyz or a brand name plus "support" or "refund". What counts is the end of the address, just before the first single slash.
- A brand-new website.
Fake shops appear for a few weeks around sales and holidays, then vanish. A site registered last month with big discounts is a warning sign.
- Only hard-to-undo ways to pay.
Bank transfer, Zelle, crypto, gift cards or a payment app, with a reason why cards "aren't working".
- Prices far below everywhere else.
Especially for phones, sneakers, pets, tickets and holiday rentals.
- A short link or a free website builder.
Short links hide where they go; free hosting lets anyone put up a convincing shop in minutes.
How to check a website yourself
- Read the address from the end.
Then type the shop's name into a search engine and compare.
- Search the name with "scam" or "reviews".
Look at independent review sites, not the reviews on the shop's own page.
- Pay by credit card or a checkout you know.
Cards and well-known checkouts let you dispute a charge if nothing arrives.
- Payment links can be genuine and still not be the shop.
Anyone with a Razorpay, PayPal or Stripe account can make a real-looking payment link. Check the business name on the payment page.
If you already paid
Call your card issuer or bank on the number on your card and ask about a chargeback or stopping the payment. In the US, report at ReportFraud.ftc.gov; in India, call 1930. Other countries: how to report a scam.
Questions
How can I tell if a website is legit before I buy?
No single check proves it. Look for a lookalike address, a very new website, prices far below everywhere else and payment only by bank transfer, payment app or crypto. Kindyra OS checks the address and payment method for these signs, and never calls a site safe.
How do I see how old a website is?
Domain registries keep public records of when an address was registered. Kindyra OS looks this up for the address you enter and shows the date, or says when the registry didn't answer in time.
Is a website with https safe?
Not on its own. https only means the connection is encrypted. Scam sites use https too. A missing https on a payment page is a warning sign, but having it proves nothing about who runs the site.
What if a payment link is on a real payment company's website?
It can still be a scam. Payment companies let any account holder make links. Check that the business name on the payment page is the one you meant to pay, and that you got the link from a source you trust.
Is this website check free?
Yes. Three checks a day without an account and ten a day when you sign in free with your email. Nothing you enter is stored.
