Browser extension · Coming to the Chrome Web Store
A calm second opinion at every checkout
The Kindyra extension notices the pressure built into shopping pages: ticking timers, "only 2 left" badges, extras ticked for you and fees that turn up at the last step. It names each one, quotes the exact words, and suggests a calm next step. It works only for you: no ads, no affiliate links, no tracking.

| What you'll see | The tactic | What it suggests |
|---|---|---|
| Countdown timers, "held for 09:59", "sale ends in 02:14:33" | False urgency | Real deadlines survive a reload. Check again later or compare another seller. |
| "Only 2 left", "selling fast", "72% claimed" | Manufactured scarcity | Decide as if there were plenty. If it sells out, a comparable one exists. |
| "12 people are viewing this", "In 23 carts", "Priya just bought this" | Social-proof pressure | Other shoppers' numbers aren't a reason to buy. |
| Insurance, protection, subscriptions, tips or donations ticked for you | Hidden costs | Untick what you didn't choose, then check the total. |
| Service, booking, resort or card fees in the checkout total, or "+ taxes & fees" | Hidden costs (drip pricing) | Compare the final total with the first price you saw. |
| "No thanks, I prefer paying full price" | Guilt and obligation | Saying no is fine. The wording is there to make it feel bad. |
How it works
- It reads the page in your browser.
Detection runs on your device, on the page you're looking at. It keeps watching while the page changes, so a fee that appears at the last step, or a timer that starts ticking, is caught too.
- A small badge shows how many signals it found.
Nothing found, no badge. You can hide it for a page, or switch the extension off for a whole site.
- Open it to see each one.
The tactic's name links to its guide, the exact words are quoted, and there's one line on what to do. "Show on page" scrolls to it.
- Want a fuller read? Check it with Kindyra.
Select some text, or use the offer the extension found, and you'll see exactly what would be sent. Nothing leaves your browser until you press Send. The result is the same Pressure Check as on this site: the tactics, the claims worth checking and what you can say back.
What it never does
- It never blocks, hides or changes anything on the page. The only change it can make is an outline around what it found, off unless you turn it on.
- It never sends page content anywhere unless you press Send.
- No ads, affiliate links, coupons or cashback. It earns nothing from what you buy.
- No analytics, no tracking and no account needed.
- It doesn't accuse shops. A timer or a stock count can be genuine; these are signals to slow down, not verdicts.
Privacy
- On your device. The extension reads the visible text of the page you're on, inside your browser, to look for pressure signals. It skips what you type into form fields. What it finds stays in that tab and is gone when you close it.
- Settings stay in your browser. Which sites you've switched it off for, and whether outlines are on, are saved in your browser's extension storage. They aren't synced or sent to us.
- Only when you press Send. If you choose Check this with Kindyra and press Send, the text shown in the panel (up to 3,000 characters, which you can edit first) is sent to the Kindyra Pressure Check and handled exactly like a check on this website: analysed by Anthropic, our AI provider, and not stored. As with any check, the generated analysis is kept privately and isn't public; the extension has no share button. It counts as a guest check, within the same daily limits as the website.
- Open on Kindyra's site. This button opens the Pressure Check with your text filled in. The text travels after the # in the address, which browsers don't send to servers, and nothing is checked until you press Check.
- No tracking. The extension has no analytics and makes no network requests of its own. The only server it ever contacts is kindos.kindyra.com, and only when you press Send.
Full details are in our privacy summary.
The permissions it asks for, and why
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Read pages on the sites you visit | To look for pressure signals on shopping pages. This happens on your device; nothing is sent. |
| Active tab | To know which site you're on when you open the toolbar button, so the on/off switch applies to that site. |
| Storage | To remember your settings in your browser. |
| Context menus | For the "Check this with Kindyra" item when you right-click selected text. |
| kindos.kindyra.com | To send the text you chose to the Pressure Check, only when you press Send. |
Questions
Is the Kindyra browser extension free?
Yes. It's free, with no ads, no affiliate links, no coupons or cashback, and no paid tier. Kindyra takes no commissions from shops, so it has no reason to steer what you buy.
Does it send the pages I visit anywhere?
No. It reads the page inside your browser and shows what it finds there. Page text leaves your browser only when you press Check this with Kindyra and then Send, and you see exactly what will be sent first.
Will it block countdown timers or change prices?
No. It never blocks, hides or changes anything on the page. The only change it can make is an optional outline around what it found, which is off until you turn it on.
Is every timer or stock badge it finds fake?
No. A timer or a low-stock count can be genuine. The extension points out signals that are often used to rush people, so you can slow down and check; it doesn't accuse the shop. It ignores delivery cut-offs such as "order within 3 hours for next-day delivery".
Which browsers will it work in?
It's built for Chrome first, and works in Chromium browsers that install from the Chrome Web Store, such as Microsoft Edge, Brave and Opera. A Firefox version is prepared and will follow.
Can it read my passwords or card details?
It doesn't read what you type into form fields, and it never sends anything unless you press Send. Even then, only the text shown in the panel is sent. Don't paste card numbers or passwords into the check box; it doesn't need them.
